The designs are turned into embroidered patches, and given to anybody who works at that particular space. Every employee who is onboard during the month of August gets one of these patches as a marker of their time with the company, and the company's growth. We were treated to an awesome day retreat in Half Moon Bay for some much needed R&R. Contributors were gifted embroidered patches as they hit certain milestones. It was a lot of fun, and is a tradition that has continued every year for the past three years. On Fridays, we'd all eat lunch together, and take turns presenting a brief talk on something we were interested in. It was a good way to get to know each other, or share technical expertise, or show off some new aspect of the product. As the company grew, the talks continued, and the audiences got larger and larger. Posters and banners filled the space and provided a fun, and highly photographable backdrop to the main stage and common areas. One of my favorite parts of the entire event was hearing how well these poster designs resonated with the attendees—the messages came up in conversation, and on stage over and over again. It’s hard to overstate the emotional connection that was palpable throughout the event!
