Skin Like Iron's first 12", All Human Failings, explores lyrical topics concerning the violence and greed inherent in humankind. The cover image features a pyramid, which represents man's incredible ability to create awe-inspiring physical structures and monuments. The flip-side to such awesome monuments is that they often glorify kings, dictators and state dominance yet they're built by slaves, or the powerless subjects of such domination.
Now, whether Egypt's pyramids were built by slaves is still debated by historians, but I wanted to invoke a foreboding monument, something that suggested the timelessness and permanence of the lyrical themes.
