Continuing my semester long investigation of Major League Baseball, I created this circular diagram as a way of mapping out the cyclical nature of the baseball season. Each year, a standard cycle of deadlines and special events plays out, and I wanted to suggest that in choosing the circular form.
As the segments grow, their growth represents the number of concurrent special events at any given time. The greater the height of the segment, the greater number of notable occurrences are taking place at one point in time.
